I'm not the believer in dressing up always according to latest fashion, as you could see I have lots of old or even own-made pieces that I withsave in my wardrobe and I wear them. But, at the same time, I'm glad to have one eye on the the actual trends, and if I like something I incorporate this item to my "collection". For some time the idea has matured, and now I'm feeling a strong desire for purchasing some clothes with peplum details. If somebody hasn't heard about it yet: this is that skirt-like or frill application around the waist which can embellish either a dress, skirt, suit or top.

Nem vagyok híve annak, hogy mindig a legutolsó divat szerint öltözzünk, láthattátok, nagyon sok régi vagy akár saját gyártású darabot őrzök a gardróbban, és viselem is őket. De azért a fél szemem szívesen tartom az aktuális trendeken, és ami tetszik, beveszem a "kollekciómba". Egy ideje már érlelődik a gondolat, és most már egészen erős vágyakozást érzek, hogy egy-két peplum szabású ruhadarabot szerezzek be. Ha valaki még nem hallott róla: ez az a szoknya hatású vagy fodor rátét/betét, amely deréktájon díszíthet ruhát, szoknyát, zakót vagy felsőrészt.

This is not a newness in fashion history, the first modern version of peplum appeared in the 40s, for example on these stunning ultrafeminine suits of fashion company Lilli Ann that you can see above. Later this cut is returned in the 80s, and now we can welcome the peplum again, or even it is considered one of the most pronounced trends in 2012.

Famous celebrities has already took it in their confidence earlier, we could meet peplum for example on black dotted creation of Stella McCartney, or the pink skirt on Emma Stone, but the wonderful orange Jason Wu dress worn by Michelle Williams has also gone round all the fashion forums.

Nem újdonságról van szó, a peplum modern változata először a 40-es években jelent meg, például a fent is látható Lilli Ann divatcég csodás ultranőies kosztümjein is. Később a 80-as években is megjelentek hasonló fazonú darabok, és most újra köreinkben köszönthetjük, sőt 2012 egyik leghangsúlyosabb trendjeként is emlegetik.

A híres sztárok már korábban is bizalmat szavaztak ennek a szabásvonalnak, és találkozhattunk már vele például Stella McCartney fekete pöttyös kreációján, vagy az Emma Stone-on látható pink szoknyácskán, de a Michelle Williams által viselt Jason Wu estélyi is bejárta már az összes divatfórumot.

Then, at the beginning of this week the "fashion bomb" has really exploded on the MET gala, let's see how popular the peplum became! For me the absolute favourite one is that beautiful yellow Rachel Roy dress on Solange Knowles.

Aztán a hét eleji MET gálán már tényleg robbant a "divatbomba", nézzük csak milyen népszerű lett a peplum! Számomra az abszolút kedvenc Solange Knowles gyönyörű sárga Rachel Roy estélyi ruhája.

The peplum started to conquer not only on red carpets but on the streets as well. My favourite bloggers has already shown us some vairations: starting from the extravagant long skirt of Blair throught the feminie combinations with pencil skirts quite until the casual ensembles with jeans.

Nemcsak a vörös szőnyegen, hanem az utcán is elindult a peplum hódító útjára. Kedvenc bloggereim már bemutattak néhány variációt: Blair extravagáns hosszú szoknyájától, a nőies ceruzaszoknyás kombinációkon át egészen a farmeres hétköznapi összeállításokig.

We can read that peplum suits - or at least good - for everyone because it creates a nice feminine "hourglass" figure. I'm not quite on this opinion, since it is the waist which is strongly accentuated, so basically it has the best effect on slim waisted girls. But I'm optimistic as well: peplum cut may help on "inverted triangle" body shape like mine, since optically it creates more proportioned hips, only the upper part of the top should be very well-tailored.

I fixed my selection on peplum tops, till now I'm not really conjured by the skirts and ruffle applications, although you can find some pieces e.g. in Zara.

Olvashatjuk, hogy a peplum mindenkinek jól áll, vagy legalábbis jót tesz, hiszen szép nőies "homokóra" alakot kölcsönöz. Ezzel azért nem értek teljesen egyet, hiszen a derék erős hangsúlyt kap, így alapvetően karcsú derekúakon mutat igazán jól. Viszont én is bizakodó vagyok: a "fordított háromszög" alakon, mint az enyém, szintén segíthet ez a szabásvonal, hiszem optikailag arányosabb csípőt csinál, csak a felső résznek igen jól szabottnak kell lennie.

A választásom inkább a peplum topokra esett, a szoknyák és fodros rátétek egyenlőre még nem varázsoltak el, de már ezekből is van választék, például a Zarában.

I've already tried these tops on, but the playful dotted H&M top created a shapeless sack figure for me. Regarding the orange cotton peplum top from Zara, weeellllll, it became horrible on me. Anyway, I think it had so expanded effect already on the dress-hanger, and looks more girlie than feminine. But the color is cute :)

Az alábbi két felsőrészt már próbáltam, de míg a laza pöttyös H&M darabban formátlan zsák alakom lett, a Zara pamut top pedig hááát, szörnyű lett. Szerintem már alapból is elég kinyúlt hatása van, és inkább kislányos, mint nőies hatást kelt. Pedig a színe tuti :)

I'm having high hopes that the other versions promoted by H&M will arrive soon, and not only to Budapest. :)

Nagy reményt fűzök ahhoz, hogy a H&M egyéb promotált verziói is megérkeznek, és nemcsak a fővárosba. :)

But if we move like this, I must dust the sewing machine and achieve these dreams from my own. Hope that it will be successful! Nevertheless I'm sooo curious for this H&M piece, although looking at the cut lines it seems a little hopeless thing but I adore this summer ensemble.

De ha így haladunk, akkor lehet leporolom a varrógépet, és megpróbálom saját kezűleg megvalósítani ezt az álmot. Hát remélem sikerrel járok! Azért még erre a H&M darabra kíváncsi lennék, bár a szabásvonalat elnézve elég reménytelen, de nagyon tetszik ez a nyári szett.
