Húsvét Gyimesen: Nagypénteki körmenet

I'm sure, similarly to other ethnic groups that live in foreign countries, the Ghymes Csango people preserve widely their traditions. It is understandable since it was the only way to strive to keep their Hungarian culture, mostly before 90s. The strongest bastion of Hungarian community was the Roman Catholic Church and nowadays the religion is professed also by many people and very actively. The Easter festivities are also important events in the life of people lives in Ghymes.
We took part on the Liturgy of Good Friday and joint to the procession as well. As a girl from the Great Plain it was a beautiful sight for me as the huge church of Ghymes Faget located in the valley is surrended by mountains, and the Easter procession take place not only around the church but weaving along the hillside.
Biztosan más idegen országban élő népcsoporthoz hasonlóan a gyimesi csángók is erősen őrzik a hagyományaikat. Érthető módon a magyarságuk megőrzésének ez volt az egyetlen módja, főleg a 90-es évek előtt. A kinti magyar közösség legerősebb bástyája a római katolikus egyház volt, és a vallást még ma is nagyon sokan és aktívan gyakorolják. A húsvéti ünnepkör is egy fontos esemény a gyimesiek életében.
Mi a nagypénteki liturgián vettünk részt, és csatlakoztunk a körmenethez is. Alföldi lányként nekem nagyon szép látvány, ahogy a völgyben levő hatalmas gyimesbükki nagytemplom hegyekkel van körülvéve, és a húsvéti körmenet sem egyszerűen a templom körül, hanem a hegyoldalon kígyózik végig.

The procession happens before the liturgy where we are commemorating of Jesus' death on the cross represented by 14 stations. It was interesting for me that men were walking ahead and the women behind.
A körmenet még a liturgia előtt zajlik, ahol a 14 stáción keresztül Jézus kereszthalálának egyes állomásaira emlékezünk. Érdekes volt számomra, hogy a menetben elöl haladtak a férfiak és hátul a nők.
Each station is represented here by old wooden crosses, people say a prayer by each of them.
Az egyes stációkat itt régi fakeresztek jelölik, mindegyik előtt egy imád mondanak.
Though Good Friday is the saddest event in Christian religion, the children remain children ... and this is okay.
A nagypéntek hiába a kereszténység legszomorúbb ünnepe, a gyerek azért gyerekek maradnak ... és jól van ez így.
The procession is closed by "clappering". It may symbolize the earthquakes that supposed to happen by the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
A körmenetet kereplés zárja. Ez talán a földrengést szimbolizálhatja, ami Jézus Krisztus keresztre feszítését kísérte.
